textcharacter.com is a reference site for Unicode characters and emoji. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run, improve and finance the site. This page explains what is collected, by whom, and what your choices are.

What we collect ourselves

Nothing that identifies you. The site has no accounts, no sign-up forms and no newsletter. Your recently viewed symbols are stored in your own browser (localStorage) and never leave your device.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how the site performs. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data (pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type). We use this data in aggregate only. Advertising

The site is financed with ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and may collect data as described in Google's advertising policy.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party cookies generally via aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu (EU). Where consent is required (European Economic Area and UK), personalised advertising is only enabled after you accept the consent prompt.
